AFPA’s SA Branch today congratulated the Green Triangle’s forest industries for coming together in Mount Gambier on Friday night to honour those companies and colleagues who have excelled in 2019.
More than 500 guests gathered at The Barn for the annual Green Triangle Timber Industry Awards Ceremony. Fourteen awards were given, including the Supreme Timber Industry Award which deservedly went to OneFortyOne’s Jubilee Sawmill.
“It was positive to see Primary Industries and Regional Development Minister Tim Whetstone and Shadow Forestry Minister Clare Scriven take to the stage to address guests,” SA Branch Manager Leon Rademeyer said.
“Also in attendance were Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin and Member for MacKillop Nick McBride contributing to an evening that was by all accounts deemed an ‘outstanding success’ for which the organisers should be commended.”
“Our forest industries are embedded in local communities and play a significant role in the long-term prosperity of the Green Triangle region. This commitment flows through the industry’s long value chain and includes job creation, skills development and a focus on local processing,” he said.
